BEAD Final Proposal

The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program provides more federal funding to North Carolina to expand high-speed internet access for its residents and businesses. Volume 1 of the state's Initial Proposal details North Carolina’s plans to determine all locations eligible for BEAD funding and Volume 2 covers the specific actions we will take to eliminate the digital divide.

BEAD Final Proposal

The Final Proposal describes our progress in implementing the approved Initial Proposal, including the results of its deployment subgrantee selection process, and provides an update to the previously approved BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 1 and Volume 2.

Draft BEAD Final Proposal for Public Comment

We posted North Carolina’s draft BEAD Final Proposal on Aug. 28 at 6: 30 p.m. and requested public commentary by Sept. 4. After reviewing all comments received and refining the document, the division submitted the Final Proposal to NTIA on Sept. 4. Comments that were submitted to BEAD@nc.gov by the deadline were added to the draft BEAD Final Proposal below.

Recommended Awards

As part of our final submission to NTIA, we shared the following recommended BEAD funding awards to internet service providers. All awards are contingent upon NTIA approval.

The Broadband Infrastructure Office has revised these data uploads, as requested by NTIA, to list locations only once across “fp_locations.csv,” “fp_no_bead_locations.csv,” and “fp_cais.csv"

The Broadband Infrastructure Office will continue to work with provisionally awarded subgrantees that submitted public comments on this template contract to finalize edits prior to contract execution.
