State Broadband Office Helps Identify 115,000 Additional N.C. Locations in Need of Broadband Access

The NCDIT Division of Broadband and Digital Equity today announced that its nearly 43,000 challenges to the Federal Communications Commission’s National Broadband Map aided in surfacing 115,000 additional North Carolina homes and businesses that do not have access to high-speed internet.

State’s Broadband Division Seeks Public Commentary on Draft Request for Proposals

The NCDIT Division of Broadband and Digital Equity seeks public review and commentary on its draft request for proposals posted today as part of ongoing efforts to connect more North Carolinians with high-speed internet. The division will use the request for proposals to prequalify internet service providers for state convenience contract awards to participate in multiple broadband expansion programs, beginning immediately with the $400 million Completing Access to Broadband program.
