2020 CARES Act Supplementary Round Internet service providers and electric membership cooperatives can apply for pandemic relief grant funding to help bring high-speed internet access to rural North Carolina. House Bill 1105 allocates more than $32 million for rural broadband expansion from the Coronavirus Relief Fund created by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020. Projects in Tier 1 and Tier 2 counties as well as rural census tracts located in Tier 3 areas currently being served by less than 25 megabytes per second download and 3 megabytes per second upload speeds are eligible for this 2020 Special Supplementary GREAT Grant round. Follow these instructions to register. Complete the user authorization form, and send it via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Approval of user authentication forms typically takes 24 hours from time of receipt. Once approved, you will get an email informing you that you may access the NCDIT Enterprise Business Services portal to apply for a GREAT Grant. Using your NCID credentials, log on to the Enterprise Business Services portal to start your application. Note: Internet Explorer is the only browser that can be used with the portal.
