WNC Digital Opportunity Pitch Party: Oct. 7

Join West NGN Broadband and Blue Ridge Broadband Alliance with special guests Benton Institute's Gigi Sohn, Drew Garner and North Carolina Office of the Governor's Jennifer Epperson for a fast-paced event to help fund digital opportunity work in western North Carolina. Pitchers will work with national experts ahead of time to perfect their digital navigation or literacy pitches. Director of the Office of Digital Opportunity Maggie Woods will serve as a judge. FCC Commissioner Gomez can't make it due to the government shutdown.

Digital Opportunity Gathering: Dec. 4

NCDIT and NC State University's Institute of Emerging Issues are holding a series of NC Digital Opportunity Gatherings to bring together practitioners in the field, Office of Digital Opportunity grantees and others interested in closing the digital divide. These free, one-day convenings engage voices from across the state and drive collaboration. More details coming soon!

2025 Digital Drive on Oct. 3

Do you or your business possess computer equipment that is no longer being used? Your E-waste can help close the digital divide!

NC TECH, Kramden Institute and NCDIT hosted a Digital Drive on Oct. 3 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) at 4000 Westchase Boulevard (Follow the signs for easy drop-off in the Parking Lot) in Raleigh, NC to securely collect your personal and business surplus computer equipment. Donors could easily drive through and drop off equipment or stop to learn more about our organizations.

NCDIT Deputy Secretary for Broadband and Digital Opportunity Annette Taylor, Director of the Office of Digital Opportunity Maggie Woods, attended and supported our two great partners and North Carolinians who need computers at home to participate in our digital world. Senator Jay Chaudhuri and Representative Zack Hawkins were also be onsite to show their support for this important work. 

The event is held annually.
