About the Broadband Speed ReportingCHECK & ENTER YOUR SPEED INFORMATION
Broadband Speed Reporting tool
Identifying the areas around the state that are unserved or underserved with high-speed broadband is a challenge that every state faces. In an effort to better identify those pockets, North Carolina has launched the Broadband Speed Test so that citizens are able to report the actual speeds that they are receiving at home and work.
Accurately identifying the communities in our state that lack broadband will help us ensure they are eligible for state and federal funding opportunities, such as the NC GREAT Grant. This information also allows for the development of strategic plans for improving connectivity throughout the state.
Currently, the Broadband Infrastructure Office is in the process of redeveloping the tool to be simpler and more streamlined, allowing for better data and an easier user experience.
